The Martineaus have been seeking a Short North residence since late summer. After 9 years in the Old North Campus neighborhood we decided to move a little closer to work, friends and all the amenities of the Arts District (Gallery Hops we can walk to, Goodale Park, ComFest, Betty's, Press Grill, Bodega, Surly Girl and all of our other beloved hang outs). After many walk-throughs, offers, counter-offers (and little love lost for Ken Wightman) and inspections...we finally found this charming little (1600 square ft) brick bungalow by the river in Harrison West. When we first noticed the FOR SALE sing in front, it was already in contract. Lucky for us it fell through, and our ace realtor called to let us know it was back on the market. We took several tours of it before deciding we could make it work. It's very cute from the outside. It's a little frightening on the inside unless you have a vivid imagination (we do...let's hope our budget can match our aspirations). As of last week, it is officially ours. We're keeping our original house until this one is further along. It's been a rental for an unknown number of years and we've got big plans for rendering it fairly different than its current state (much to the relief of all friends and family who have toured it). Join us on the journey!
